CRIMINAL PROCESS AND FEES

When you are charged with a criminal offence, it is important that you meet with a lawyer, even if you do not end up hiring one, to ensure that you are fully informed with respect to your rights and the criminal process itself.

At my office, the initial meeting is FREE

During that meeting I will ask pertinent questions that allow me to provide you with an initial opinion on your criminal matter.

The Criminal Process after being charged involves the following:

  1. Attendance for the purpose of providing the police with your prints and photos. My office will destroy these upon the successful completion of the criminal charge.
  2. Attendance at Court for set date appearances and to be spoken to appearances to determine if you have hired a lawyer, to provide disclosure and to schedule Crown or Judge meetings. If you retain my office, I will have you sign a designation that allows my office to appear on your behalf, and you will not have to go to court.
  3. Attendance at the Preliminary Inquiry and/or Trial, if the matter has not been successfully completed before this. My office will explain and prepare you for your trial to ensure that you have an understanding of what to expect.
